Dear reader,
If you have not heard, there is a show on the History Channel, one of my favorites, that is called Monster Quest. This is a series that goes around the country reporting on the likes of Big Foot, the Loch Ness Monster, etc. etc. Here is my experience to rival that of the film crew from this show.
So, let me tell you about my Wednesday. There I was, just riding along.....
Lets step back a few moments. I had just gotten off the Sounder at Kent Station and was making my way across Smith to wait for the crossing arms to raise so I could head up the hill toward home. Over the din of noise, with the train whistle blowing and the engine straining to get the cars moving on their way south, I hear this voice calling my name. I think to myself, "hmm self, this is strange, who is calling my name down here?" I look across the street and I can't believe what I am seeing. Lurking out of the shadow of the Kent Station Parking Garage is this pasty, pale white sickly looking being with a cherub like round face and beaming grin from ear to ear, with a Kona Dew in tow. I can't believe my eyes! I have sighted NBOB!!! My first instinct is to run and scream but wait, I'm trapped. I can't go forward, the train is there. I can't back up, there are cars there. I head for the curb and look for an escape but its too late, he is upon me. I realize that the gentle beast means no harm. I am amazed by the white pale sheen of his skin. I can barely believe its him. Yes, its NBOB!
I asked him if he was wearing SPF 5,000 to protect his now nocturnally oriented exterior from the harsh rays and UV exposure of the sun. What could possibly cause this creature of the night to purposefully come out during the daylight hours?
Bob is on day shift starting in June. He is working some day shifts now as a part of the transition period. I'm sure he will need time to regain some pigment in his skin and allow his eyes time to revert to their past daylight vision abilities. He is also working with his new staff on the computer program that they will be using as part of his new assignment and that means he will be working some on all three shifts. If that won't screw up your circadian cycle, I don't know what will.
He promised to again start looking at the BLOG and will try to make it out for SOME riding in June but won't make any promises. He admitted he has gotten slower and hasn't been riding much other than commuting. Lets face it, with his help our commute team at work wouldn't have finished 3rd overall. GO BOB! So, if you see a "new" face showing for a ride at some point in the next month or so, it just might be NBOB.
He also said he once again has his tickets for the Hawks so those of us that have seats will see him there also. He is still on schedule to commit matrimony over the summer, has all but stopped consumption of adult beverages and they know him by name at church. Love is a powerful drug.
So, that in closing is my account of my brush with the soon to be not creature of the night.
Happy Thursday.

Just another reason to carry pepper spray.
Yeah, uh huh. and what proof might you have of this sighting? a grainy photo? an out of focus video? Like all of these types of sightings, I am sure there is a logical and scientific explanation; swamp gas maybe? I'm surprised you didn't go on and on about any pungent odor that preceeded the sighting. I find it very convenient that you found yourself "trapped" and couldn't go to The NBOB right away. As with all of these "phenomena", I will not believe them until I actually see them.
Oh, and if I ever do see an NBOB, I'll make darn sure to knock it over the head with a shovel and drag it to the nearest newstation to announce my discovery to the world.
RRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR!!
I is back and fresh off of my first ride of more than 20 miles in a very, very long time. I am not pasty white, any longer. I am now PINK!! Perfect!
See you all soon. I will turn on the blog at my house and try not to become a male Frou Gloop.
That would be Herr Gloup. Ihrer Willkommen.
