GRR Jerseys

Here is the latest art work for our new kits. Green socks, gloves and helmets are on your own. The fit kits are down at C.T. Please verify your sizing needs and update the spread sheet by Tuesday so I can call Primal and order on Wed. Turn around has been about 6 weeks so we may have them in time for Mt. Adams. Secret message votes should be noted on the spread sheet as well. PLEASE! Take care of all of this over the weekend so we can get these coming. Thanks!
Maybe next year we can look into jackets or vests.

2 for the t-1 Smith's. Don't know the sizes yet.

MacDaddySpeed said...

I'm in for one - large

question, when you say "All inclusive", do you mean jersey AND (bib)shorts?

what kind of cut are they, race or tour? full zip jerseys or not?
If we try on primal jerseys at say, CT, will this be a good guide?

The Engineer said...

All inclusive means set up, art work, S&H, etc. NO shorts included, this is only for the jersey. I'll get more details on sizing and cut, etc later on. I'm just trying to get a count on how many we would have for the order.

They do have shorts/bibs too and I'll ask about those when they call me back.

Big Roddy said...

Are we looking at the same design or a refreshed one?

The Engineer said...

Probably close to what we have unless someone has input or another design otherwise.

N.B.O.B said...

I will be in for 1 if it is the old design, don't know the size, yet. If it is a new design, at least one.

Any complaints if the future Mrs.LaDou has a GRR jersey? One day, we may actually see her on a ride.

Big Roddy said...

Lee and I are in for one each with a refreshed design.

John Calnan said...

NBOB- I have no objection. Until the day she comes on a ride, she can wear it while she's drafting you at the supermarket, or wherever it is that she drafts you.

The Engineer said...

So who is going to submit the "refreshed design"? I'll wait to see what they come up with for the artwork from Primal. I did ask them to do something up for the bib shorts also. I should have something back from the early next week.

MacDaddySpeed said...

maybe we could consider getting some sponsors?

Aims said...

Put me down for one.
Size - TBD when get closer to ordering.

good luck with the design. I like the exisiting one. gets lots of recognition.

Russ said...

Put me down for one, size TBD

MacDaddySpeed said...

yes, we do get a lot of recognition. We may want to put a patch of Washington State on the jersey so people quit asking if we are from Green River Wyoming:)

Lee said...

Macdaddy - consider the question about WY as an opportunity to practice your conversation skills and to meet new people.

Dale - I can send you the original jersey artwork I have it on a cd somewhere. Can we get bigger pockets? Do all 25 have to be short sleeved - would they consider a mixed order w/ long sleeve full zip? I'd rather have a l/s.

MacDaddySpeed said...

Good point, Lee.

The Engineer said...

I've gotten some preliminary art work back and so far, they are looking very sharp. I've made a couple changes to the black vertical bars on the front and back, simplified the sleeves (no GRR on the top) and just simple black accents around the sleeves without the gray. Also, no chain ring on the neck and the color will be blue instead of black. There are some other subtle changes to the front and back under the logo and I would like to have a typical Primal "secret message" inside the back pocket. Any suggestions? They have also made what I think is the COOLEST change, the black on the front and back looks just like carbon fiber weave now.

Racer and Club fits are available and sizing will be the same as that available at your LBS or bicycle clothing retailer.

Shorts are still in design but I should have proofs on those in the next day or so.

Sorry, no mix and match on the long /short sleeved jerseys BUT they said they will work with us on that so don't count it out altogether.

Zippers are available in 3/4 or full in black or white.

One thing to think about that may push this through for the long/short issue-if we are OK going with just black long sleeves on the existing short sleeved design, they may go for that. I don't know if we will be able to do the carbon fiber look or not but I'll ask. That way it will look like you are wearing arm warmers with the Jersey.

Aims said...

wow, Dale. This is very cool. I hope to see the preliminary design soon.

I second Lee's comment for bigger pockets.

>>"secret message" inside the back pocket. Any suggestions?
No junk in the trunk

Marshall said...

I think they look super. Will you be able to see the GRR on bibs with your jersey on? Might want to lower the GRR. Regardless, I'll order a bibshort and ss jersey. Med. bib, upgraded chamois, med. jersey in race cut. I prefer a full zip, 3/4 is fine. Since The Engineer is coordinating all of this, why not use his, "Go ride yer bike" as the secret message? Marshall

Secret Message -
"Neil Diamond - America's greatest song writer"

The Engineer said...

Rod, That really qualifies as a secret alright. I would have never know it. Not really what we are looking for however.

"Iv'e been HIT!"

The Engineer said...

Friends don't let friends listen to Neil.

Shut up and pedal

If you can read this my camelback fell off.

This is a bigger pocket.

I wish I was a monkey so I could throw poop and it would be legal.

MacDaddySpeed said...

Oh no you don't John Curley

Aims said...

I LIKE THE "GO RIDE YOUR BIKE"

WHAT IF IT WAS A FORTUNE LIKE SAYING? SOMETHING YOU WOULD READ OUT OF A FORTUNE COOKIE. THERE'S ENOUGH CLEAVER WORD SMITHS IN OUR BUNCHES WHO COULD FIGURE IT OUT.

John Calnan said...

I'm neither a cleaver or a smith, but here goes:

"Don't buy upgrades; ride up grades." - Eddy Merckx

"35 Calories per mile"

"10 MPD (miles per donut)"

"Ride like you mean it"

“I ride my bicycle to ride my bicycle.” from the Zen Proverb

"This route fucking sucks"

A comment on the graphics on the jerseys and shorts:

- the chain running down the sides appear to be too big. They seem out of proportion for the rest. What about reducing the scale to about 75% of current size?

having some sleep really makes things clearer.

"Shorts by Seymor Butts"

John Calnan said...

I'm liking MDS's.

MacDaddySpeed said...

Christian actually gets credit for that one.

also, is it possible to get a different proof with a smaller chain, just to take a look at it.

The Engineer said...

I have requested a modified proof with a smaller chain pattern for the shorts and jerseys. I should see that next week and I'll add it to the original post.

Also, please get back to me with your order needs. So far we aren't close to the minimum for anything. I don't have confirmed orders from everyone either. Please email me those as soon as you can so we can determine how close we are. Thanks.

So I went to REI today and tried on some Primal jerseys. My current GRR jersey is a medium race fit. REI had medium and large club fit. The medium club fit was like wearing a second layer of skin. The large club fit was very similar to the current GRR medium race fit. So, I think I will be ordering the large club fit. It might be a good idea to go try on some Primal jerseys just to make sure you get the fit you want.

sexy29yo said...

For you gals, I tried the club fit medium Primal jersey. It fit me OK in the waist/hip area but was pretty big in the shoulders. I probably wouldn't get the race fit without trying it first, because I think it would be too small in the hips. They didn't have any small jerseys of either cut.

I don't know if the medium GRR jersey I have is race fit or club fit, but it is about the same as the primal jersey in the waist/hip area and smaller in the shoulder area.

I also tried on Sean's jersey, which I think is actually a large, and it is significanly bigger on me in the waist/chest/shoulder area and about the same in the hips as the Primal club fit medium.

sexy29yo said...

Correction, my jersey is a club fit medium and Sean's is a race fit large. The club fit medium Primal is fits slightly bigger than the race fit large, and smaller than the club fit medium.
